Well, Jakob has enjoyed his b-day, so far. Last Saturday we went to Amazing Jake's for our 'family' celebration of Jakob's birthday. It's our fav place to go as a family. Great price, when we wear our Amazing Jake T-shirt's. Didn't get any great pictures, this time...though. Refer to Zae's party, it's pretty much the same set up. Aunt Shelley wasn't able to come this time,...Uncle Robert did, though.
Jon did a 'work from home' day, today. He has pager ever 4 to 6 weeks, for a week. The week he has pager they allow him to do 1 day from home. He chose today, partially so he could walk the kiddos to school. They were late, but not quite tardy...thank goodness. Jakob and Zae haven't missed a day, yet. Hopefully we can keep that record.
I took Little Caesar's pizza to Jakob and Zae for lunch. They thought that was pretty neat. The school doesn't have a lunch room, so lunch is actually at the park. So, the kiddos all eat, then they get to play on the park equipment. While I was there watching them play, a lunch aide lady came up to me and told me how cute Zae is, and that she has told Zae that she wants to come and eat at our house, cause the lunches I send look so good, and nutritious. And that Zae even it's it all so well. She wants my secret of how I get my kiddos to eat even the good stuff. Good question, I guess I got lucky. (I do struggle with ideas, but that a whole other topic for my self-reliance/preparedness blog I am thinking of creating).
When Jakob got home from school, we gave him a gift bag full of some fun stuff. Pirates of the Caribbean miscellaneous items, a snorkel and mask, some treats, etc.
Grandma Scott called and said 'Happy Birthday', and had scriptures waiting for him at Deseret Book, so Jakob and I went to get them, he had brought along $2, and wanted to get a frozen yogurt. He picked Strawberry Mango...very tasty. Then we went to Walmart to pick out his big present of the day. A new bicycle!! I had looked at them earlier, but didn't want to pick, cause I thought he might enjoy that part. I sure wish I would have gotten pictures of him riding the isles at the store...too bad I can't ask them for some pictures, or even a film..I am sure their security cameras got an eye full. I am very surprised that no one came and stopped him. He wanted to keep going. The bike he chose is a Next bike. It is red. (my favorite color!) Ironically, it is the bike that I almost bought earlier in the day...guess 'like mother like son'. ;) I will add some pictures soon. It was dusk by the time we got home, and we wouldn't have gotten that great of pictures, I know that is the first thing he will go to when he gets home, so there will be ample opportunity to get some pictures.
We plan to give him a bunch more pool items on Saturday, when he has his friend birthday party.
