Well, last Wed Jakob had a spelling bee at his school. Each month the individual classes have their own spelling bee's and those that have 'placed' (maybe 1st, 2nd or 3rd) have an opportunity to spell at the final spelling bee. Jakob's 2nd grade class had about 10 or so kids that were in it, including Jakob.
Well, out of his class level (they only compete against class mates) Jakob got 2nd place! Way to go Jakob!! He will be getting Scrabble Junior, and probably also a little trophy. (according to Jakob) I guess making him spell his weekly words EVERY day has paid off. Though I think he would do better if he wrote them. We only make him say them out loud...except twice a week he has to write them.
