Well, we have had quite the fun time over the last few days! We had a blast with our family reunion this year, despite the extreme weather. One comment said a lot during the long weekend was: 'If you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes'. Which was true. We had sunny, rainy, windy, hot, cool...and that was in a period of only a couple of hours. There was even some hail over the weekend.
The place we chose to camp was PERFECT. No one else around, great trails for the 4-wheelers, awesome sand to play in (yellow, red and tan), trees for shade, also enough dead wood to build a nice fire.
The WHOLE family was there, except for Erica's husband, he had to work most of the time.
Most of us ended up not actually 'camping' over-night. We went out to the camp site to play on Saturday, took my parent's RV out there to 'save' the spot (which wasn't really a problem, cause there weren't as many campers this year, because of the weather...which was actually quite perfect, cause it wasn't too hot). We all came back in that evening (after tinfoil dinners. You haven't really camped unless you do tinfoil dinners!!) This next morning we went to church early so that we could get family pictures. That was nice that we were all dressed up.
After church we made a boat load of pizza. It had to be a lot, cause even the teenage boys couldn't get through it all. LOL
We then went out to the campsite to visit and play in the sand. (keeping the 4-wheelers parked until Monday) Robert and Shelley had brought some TASTY brawts and burgers. Yum, Yum!
Most of us went back to my parents after dinner. Jon, Robert, Curtis and some of the kiddos faced the elements, and stayed behind. Those of us that went back to my parents, we watched 'The Dance'
Monday was probably the most enjoyable day for me...it was a FULL day of entertainment. 4-wheel & dunebuggy riding, games, food, sand, etc.
Some extra pics of the reunion.
Again that evening most of us came in to stay at my parents. Jon was actually the only adult that stayed out at the campsite with a handful of kiddos. (Well, I guess Chandy, Steven and his friend George could be considered adults)
We had started a movie on the 'big screen' (Robert had brought his projector, and we had it playing on a large sheet on the side of the RV), but then Erica came up to let Shelley know she needed to call her family, cause her dad was in the hospital. Robert and Shelley ended up leaving the next morning (a day early), and also took Jon with them. (I and the kiddos are sticking around in Utah for the next month, and we miss 'daddy')
I and the kiddos are now at Pauline's house. The weather is actually really nice right now...just right for the kiddos to play in. Last night they were out late and there were SO many neighbor kids playing in the Culdesac. I think maybe about 15 kids, or something. Benjamin was hamming it up with the attention he was getting. He had them 'eating out of his hand'. It was funny to watch how they were fascinated in what he did. He would say 'come here, come here' and then jester with his hand. They would follow right behind. They may have been so fascinated with him because earlier today a couple of the gals saw him in his swim suit, and they probably wondered what the tube was in his stomach...I am sure the word has spread that the little guy has a tube in his stomach. Plus, with how silly and cute he is. The older kids loved carrying him around on their hip...wonder how many of them took a sneak peek under his t-shirt to check out his feeding tube. Jon is always telling Ben that he is lucky, cause he will have so many 'battle scars' to show off to friends and girlfriends.
