Well, yesterday was actually Zaelynn's b-day, but we had such a fun long day, that I didn't take time to post on the blog.
All the kiddos had school yesterday...Zae's teacher even through a b-day party for her. A couple of the kiddos brought her presents. Playdough, clothes, even a couple of dollars. 'Ms. Melinda' even made her a cake. That was nice for us, cause then we didn't have one at home. Instead we went to Amazing Jake's.
Zaelynn had first voted for Chucky Cheese's. But she also wanted Aunt Shelley to come. She doesn't do really well with greasy foods, so I was able to convince Zae to go with Amazing Jake's instead. She probably doesn't realize it, but there are really a lot more things to do at AJ's, then at Chucky Cheese's. Chucky Cheese puts on commercials on one of the kiddos favorite TV channels...so of course they will first say there.
At AJ's they had buffet pizza, salad, potato/pasta bar and dessert. They also have rides, arcade machines, carousel, bumper cars, spinning tea cups, mini-golf, laser tag, frogger drop, etc.
We even all got matching shirts...really fun, and cute.
First we went through the buffet and ate pizza and such...we went into the movie room and watched the Sugar Plum Fairy. I'm actually not sure who chose that movie...the other 2 choices were Mr. Mongooriums Emporium (?), and Shrek 3. So, why that one was chosen, who knows...plus the projector light was going out...the movie was pretty much in gray scale. It's all good, though...cause we had a lot of fun things in store.
The First ride we went on the bumper cars...Zae road with me. :) We didn't get our seatbelts on very well, because I couldn't figure out the top straps. Well, part way through the driving, a manager came over to the area, and noticed we didn't have them on properly...the employee (who hadn't strapped us in) mumbled on his way over to us that now he was in trouble, because I took my seatbelt off, well, hhmm....maybe he should have showed me how to put it on in the first place. And since we were stopped, Zae thought she was supposed to take her seatbelt off...and unbuckled herself...as did Jakob. (jakob was with Uncle Robert, in a different car) Jakob went as far as to get out of the vehicle in the middle of the track....saying he wanted to get off the ride. We told him to get back in the car until we got to the proper drop off place...ugh, children.
Next we went to the frogger game. You ride up and are dropped, and up and dropped again. You don't actually go too far up. I kinda wish I would have gone on this ride, but I didn't. Actually only Robert, Jakob and Ben ended up going on this ride. Jakob again said that he wanted to get off the ride. Ben was fine with the whole thing.
Next up was the tea cup spinner...I REALLY should have just skipped over this ride! It was not a good idea. Especially after eating way too much for the buffet. Zae went with Daddy (Jon), Ben went with Uncle Robert, and I was with Jakob. And you guessed it. He kinda freaked out about spinning. Didn't want to make our cup spin. Well, that was pretty much fine with me. Since it makes me sick to spin anyways. Except for the fact that I couldn't leave it alone...you know me, the brat that I am...because Jakob didn't want to spin, of course I wanted to spin him. So I did...it was fine for a bit, until we started slowing down from the spin. I could hear Jon chanting from him and Zae's spinner (which btw, Zae did great with ...she an Ben had no qualms about spinning). Jon was saying things like 'Mommy is looking a bit green around the gills'. And laughing at me. Little turkey.
The carousel was next on the agenda. Robert and Shelley went with the kiddos. (since I was in no condition to ride even a mild carousel ride, after the tea cup thing) I didn't really get any good pictures of this ride, cause the kiddos were riding on inside horses. I did get a pic of Shelley, though. :)
The next ride was funny...Jon and the kiddos went on the train ride. All of them riding in the Caboose. LOL Well, this Caboose isn't necessarily made for adults, especially bigger adults. It was cute to see Jon scrunched up inside with kiddos surrounding him...
We also got to go mini-golfing. Interesting trying to keep track of three kiddos, and still try to putt your own ball around. As you can imagine, it was basically a 'free-for-all'..and just having fun.
Laser Tag was entertaining. We were all in these bright white shirts (since we were all wearing matching 'Amazing Jake' t-shirts)...easy to spot as a target. It was fun...just not quite as fun as a place that is exclusively set up for Laser Tag.
Robert and Shelley took off after that. Then we went on one last item. The climbing rock. Jakob tried it, did ok. Zae then tried it, didn't get too far. Then I tried it...hahaha. That was kinda hilarious. I couldn't get past a certain rock, and it was only about 1/3 of the way up....so none of us actually made it up to the top.
What we got Zae for her b-day is a cheetah Girl Barbie, and also Bambi 2.
