This last Saturday I got to ride horses again with the young men after about 10 years. I was pretty afraid that i would have forgotten most of what I used to know. I have always loved horses (as long as they are other people's horses) and really missed it. so anyway I was watching the young men ride and all the follies and successes they had. in the end they all had a blast and so did I. we had 4 horses and about 7 people. so we had to share. but it was fun to see the young men's faces go from fear to thrill as they learned to be comfortable with the horses. when I got on for the first time everything started coming back to me. the horses were pretty well trained but still wanted to do what they wanted and not what we wanted. Well after my horse got over that kick we got along great. after settling in we were allowed to trot and then gallop them. all the boys cursed when they trotted. none of them wanted to go into a gallop if it hurt so bad. I told them that its a totally different sensation. after each one tried it they loved the gallop. of course you feel even more out of control when they do. next time we are allowed to go we will be able to take them on a trip around a small town. the boys are all looking forward to that. so am I. anyway it was a thrill to ride them and I hope I can take my family sometime and go as well. I think it would be great for the kids and the wife.

Can't wait until we can go horseback riding. It has been forever for me, too! We need to do it. I think Jakob will really like it.
