Potty with Elmo

Zaelynn got a 'Potty with Elmo' doll for Christmas. She (and the other kiddos) seem to like it pretty well, yet it didn't really fulfill it's purpose...to help Zae get potty trained. She still hated it when we wanted her to sit on the toilet, and would fight it.

Well, this last couple of weeks the kiddos have been sick. So has Jon...so we let up on the potty training thing. Who wants to potty train while not feeling well? I guess Zaelynn. LOL, cause in the middle of being sick, she decided that she was going to start using the potty more. This is about where Jon would say something like 'That's a girl for you'.

We are thrilled for this 'big girl' step that Zaelynn is taking. She isn't completely out of the woods, but she is well on her way. Still needs a diaper at night and naps.

It's still got to be her idea if and when she goes to the potty. I can say nicely, 'try to go potty before we go.' or 'it's been awhile since you have gone to the bathroom, why don't you go try'. Whoa! The fits she has thrown with me just even saying that. It has to be HER idea. Which means that when she says she needs to go, you gotta drop everything and go...cause that usually means NOW. It's all good, though. I am just excited that she is going. :)

Go Zaelynn. Do the Happy Dance.
