Actually it was really a great day. I think all of us enjoyed the day immensely.
Jakob had a pizza party for his Valentine's day. Not to mention all the candies and cards he got. There are 29 kids in his class, so his backpack was full of cards and wrappers. Not much candy left, lol. Guess he dug in to that, quickly. I didn't send him a lunch, because I knew they were planning the pizza party, but they didn't have that until later in the afternoon, oops. He ended up having school lunch, which I am surprised he ate, because it was a corndog (he usually HATES hotdogs), he said he liked it, though. His friend Dinaisha invited him to her birthday party. They went skating, and then had pizza.
Zaelynn has had a cold the last couple of days. I wasn't going to send her to school, yesterday, because of her coughing. But she really did want to go, so I said if she would take her medicine nice, then she could go. (We had given her medicine the night before for her persistent cough, and it had taken both Jon and I to get it in her.) She took her medicine great, and the teacher said she didn't cough hardly at all. She started up, soon after school, though. I think the medicine wears off about 2 or 3 hours after taking it.
Benjamin was actually asleep on the bus when he got home. He hasn't been doing it as much, lately. He's growing up (sniff). But he did, today, probably because they had so much going on, and he didn't get the 'sugar rush' that keeps most of the kiddos going through these fun filled party (since he doesn't eat the candy.) He has candy to share with his brother and sister, I guess.
I gave Jon a candy gram (a story I wrote, and added little 'sayings' that I found on the conversation hearts.) he had to match up the conversation hearts, with the parts in the story that correlated. I also made up 2 CD's worth of Love Songs. Mostly from the late 80's. I sent Robert the list of songs I wanted, and he recorded them. (Thanks Bro!) I also wrote Jon a cheesy Poem after I received his Valentines Gift. I will put it in below. (If I dare, cause it really is cheesy)
My wonderful dear hubby sent me 2 dozen roses and chocolates, too boot. MMMmmm...they smell so good! When they came, I was in the middle of compiling the songs I wanted to be on Jon's CD's. What a surprise when I find Roses at my door! He really surprised me this year! There is still more to come, too. He has made plans for us, tonight. I have NO idea what we will be doing. He just told me the time frame that I needed to have a babysitter, and that I should wear 'business casual'. So, we shall see. :)
Here is the Poem I wrote (I tried to incorporate the 24 roses he sent...like I said, 'cheesy')
HOW DO I LOVE THEE...
1 gorgeous flower, petals so fine.
Reminds me of that man o' mine.
2 forever flowers sitting side by side
I see you and me, happy tears I cried.
3 precious flowers standing in a row.
Our children so dear, watching them grow.
4 flowers if you count Teddy the cat.
You would say 'dragon', imagine that.
5 eternal buds blooming toward heaven.
Could possibly become 6 or 7.
8 roses could depict this 2008 year.
Together forever, all we hold dear.
9 stems with thorns, growth and trials
The beauty above goes on for miles
10 blossoms could be called a perfect score.
Nope, it gets better then that at 24.
What happened with 11 to 23, you ask
Well, that's just an overwhelming task.
It would take 24 and even beyond,
to try and explain our eternal bond.
To make a long story short,
So we don't take ALL night
Jon fits me JUST RIGHT

That's a really sweet poem.
Thanks...heehe, you have to admit a bit corny, though. I hope to add pictures to the post in the next few days.
It's a Valentine's day poem--of course it's corny--but I think it's great :)
