Melting Pot

http://www.meltingpot.com/

Ok...so, in my last post I mentioned that Jon was going to surprise me with an evening out. Well, he really did surprise me! We went to 'Melting Pot'. It is in Scottsdale, it is a really nice restaurant. I love, Love, LOVED it. We went with Robert and Shelley. That was another surprise, I didn't realize that they would be going, also.

I don't know that I have ever enjoyed a dinner out quite like I did Friday. There were SO many yummy foods. They had a incredible Valentine menu already created. There were 4 courses PLUS a very nice gift bag with a picture frame, fluted wine glasses, house salad dressing, and container of seasoning. They even took our picture, printed it out and gave it to us to put in the frame. (Robert scanned and sent it to me, so I could add it here at our blog)

For the first course we had 2 types of cheeses, which I can't even say the names, and 2 or 3 types of bread squares, apples and broccoli to dip in the cheeses. The cheese dips were delish! One more so then the other.

2nd course was salads. I chose a raspberry walnut salad (yum) Jon had the Caesar with roasted pinenuts.

3rd course was BEYOND incredible. There were again 2 fondue pots with a different type of broth in each. The seasonings and added ingredients (citrus, mushrooms, garlic, etc) were excellent. There were SO many different types of things to dip. Steak, balsamic marinated meat. large shrimp, lobster, chicken, potatoes, squash, mushrooms...WOW. I loved how we each had 2 skewers, and would choose what we wanted to cook. The eating was easy going, and took time. We were there for 2 and a half hours.

Last (but certainly not least) there was a round for dessert. White chocolate in one fondue pot, Semi-sweet chocolate in the other. Delicious morsels such as chocolate marshmallows, white marshmallows, rice crispie squares, banana slices, pound bread, cheese cake, strawberries....drizzled or dipped with the decadent chocolate.

I loved every minute of it, and can't wait until we can go again. (maybe after storing up 3 months of dating 'funds'. LOL)
