Roosters in the City!?

Each morning around the same time, we are awakened by the sound of the rooster. 'Cock-a-doodle-do' Now aren't roosters not allowed within most cities? At least I think that is the case here...so why the annoying noise? Plus, there seems to be a count down before the rooster crows? (roosters know how to count?)
-caution, earplugs needed-

Well, if something seems a bit cuckoo about this story, it's because it is...our 'rooster', would be none other then my quirky hubby. The annoying rooster crow is his 'alarm' for everyone to get up. He steps into the kids' room, and starts counting down slowly. 5 -4 -3 -2 -1. 'rRRrrr-rRRrrr-rrrrRRr' (in the 'cock-a-doodle-do' sound) I sure like the days the kiddos decide to get up during the count-down. Therefore avoiding the 'noise'. Unfortunately, more likely then not one or both Zae and Jakob will lay there in a stupor, even once the 'crowing' has begun. And the 'rooster' doesn't STOP, until everyone is out of their beds! Aaaaahhh! Ok kids, time to move back to the downstairs bedroom!!!

Besides....if I am going to have to wake up every morning to an annoying rooster sound, it better be because I am 'homesteading'. LOL

To 'the rooster'. I think it's just your way of asserting yourself, and to prove that in some ways you do 'rule the roost'.

Haven't you heard that REAL rooster--I think it is on Lazona. That's what I thought you meant at first!

What a crack up! Jon, that's just too classic. Don't EVER stop. When you're 80 and Steph won't get up to cook you breakfast, I hope you'll still be cock-a-doodling away, LOL!
About your reply, Steph, (and I'm assuming here that Jon is The Rooster, "...to prove that in some ways you do 'rule the roost'..." JON, are you going to take this from her??? HELLO! It's like she's saying, "You're the head, but I'm the neck, and whatever I say goes". HAHAHA What Steph doesn't get is she's supposed to make Jon THINK he "rules the roost" whether he does or not, ya see?
