First I will start with Friday...Jon worked ALL night Thursday night, so when he got home at around 8:45am on Friday, he went straight in to bed. Well, around 10:30 or 11am I saw the UPS mad drive up, and then I heard him knock on the door...I didn't even answer, knowing they would probably just leave 'Benjamin's' stuff at the door. That is what I assumed it was, because Benjamin has periodic deliveries throughout the month for varies supplies. (formula, tube feeding supplies, diapers) Well, an hour or so later I decided I best go check to see what they had delivered. It wasn't a delivery for Ben, after all. FLOWERS! Suwheat! I was so excited to see them, and smell them...I didn't even notice that there was a vase that came along with them, let alone a card. LOL. So, I stuck them in a blue vase I already have, and when I thanked and kissed on Jon for the flowers a little later, I mentioned that it was a good thing I hadn't donated the vase, like I had considered. He looked confused, and asked where the pretty 'ruby red' vase was. (he knows my fav color is red). Low and behold, in looking in another section of the flower box, there was the ruby red vase and also the chemicals that you are supposed to add to the flowers. (oops) Oh, when I told my sister that hubby sent flowers, she said that her hubby doesn't really do spontaneous things like that. I kinda laughed, and said that I don't think it was that spontaneous. Cause I knew exactly where he got the idea. Jon's favorite radio station is KFYI, and I seldom listen to that station. (he does every day on the way to and from work), well lately I have been listening to it a bit (ok, a LOT) more, because I wanted to become a bit more informed on the state of the union. Well, there were PLENTY of reminders to listeners to get their sweetheart something for Valentine's Day. I LOVE that he got them, though. :)
I didn't have my camera out when the kiddos returned from school, yesterday...but if I had, I would have taken a picture of their many Valentine's day cards, that they received. I might still get them to gather the ones they can find, so that I can get a picture. (like I did last year)
Last night Jon and I went to a FSA (families supporting adoption) activity. It was dinner and games with couples who have adopted, or who are planning to adopt. We went with the Bishop & Caroline.
It was kinda funny, cause when we got there Jon made a joke about sitting next to Bishop. And Caroline quickly 'shushed' him, and said, 'It's Jack tonight'. (I know what it really was, they wanted to be able to 'let their hair down', so to speak...with no one the wiser. LOL) We DID sing Karaoke later in the evening. I didn't do such a stellar job, but Caroline sure did. She sang 'Hopelessly devoted to you', from Grease. I sang 'Dancing Queen' by Abba. Then Jack (did I just call him that?!) sang 'who let the dogs out'. (Jon was supposed to sing with him, but he chickened out...bwack!) Who'd a thunk that 'who let the dogs out' was such a difficult song! There are some VERY fast lyrics. About the only thing that we knew was the 'Who let the dogs out' part. Well, of course the ~Barking~
Today we went to our 7th Foster class. (Wow! Only 3 more to go). It was interesting, and I enjoyed getting to know the other couple. Jon isn't much for life stories, and details...so while we were exchanging stories with the other couple that was there, and the instructors...Jon played a game on his phone. Silly guy.

Later in the day we doubled with my brother and sis-in-law. We went to Buca Di Peppo. Yum! Now that is some tasty food. I hadn't ever been there before. We ordered a Pizza called Angelo Pizza. It was cheese, corn, chicken and Parmesan chips. I had never heard of parmesan chips, before. And that's exactly what they were...basically small round chips that were made of parmesan cheese. We also had Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. For side orders we ordered spicy sausage and a large meatball and cheesy garlic bread. We basically shared all around, and took the portion we wanted. We both went home with left-overs. I am looking forward to that, tomorrow.
We were going to go to a movie, but near the end of dinner Jakob called with an aching tooth...he called twice, so we figured we better come home, and ya...he has a small abscess on his gum line near a tooth with a large cavity. Of course it's a long weekend, so it won't be until Tuesday that I can get him in.
All in all, this Valentine's weekend was pretty great. (minus the aching tooth, of course)
Oh, and to make it even more the sweeter...this is what we came home to:
Isn't she a cutie?!

Holy cow, long post!! It was fun reading it, though. I know what you mean about eating out of Valentines. Except we went out the night before, for our anniversary. Yummy Red Lobster! Curtis actually tried something new for a change! Shocker! We both ordered from their new grilled menu. I had scallops wrapped in bacon and a skewer of shrimp, both with a peach bourbon sauce. YUM!
BTW, did you really just call your Bishop Jack? hehe And also, the picture of you and Jon, where you are crossing your arms, you look like you're trying to hide that you don't have a bra on, hahaha. LOL. I have ta tease ya! Cute pic, though.
Did you just really ask me in my blog comments if I was wearing a bra?! LOL Actually, surprisingly I was. (and since I couldn't find either of my 'normal' white ones, it was a sexy blue one...I think Jon must have sabotaged the situation) I think the 'pose' was cause I wanted the picture, but I have a complex about pictures taken of me, so I folded my arms.
I notice you didn't try a 'new' restaurant, even though you tried a 'new' dish. ;) -really Red Lobster does sound tasty. (now we are going to have to try scallops wrapped in bacon, instead of mushrooms wrapped in bacon.)
We had fun with you guys--and you actually sounded great--I think you should join choir--really! Also, I love Buccu Di beppos. We went there for a family reunio nonce and it was delicious--good choice!
