Thanksgiving-2009-Gobble, Gobble

It has been a LONG time since Jon and I stayed home for Thanksgiving. We normally head North to Utah. It was nice not to have to do a lot of driving, but we sure did miss seeing family. Jon tried his hand at making a pie...it wasn't too bad. :) We (mostly he) plan on trying again and perfecting the art. (if it's anything like the bread he now makes...his pies will be awesome.)

We had Thanksgiving Dinner with Arie's bfamily. It was tasty. :) We had our turkey cooked in a pit. Robert & Shelley's ward digs a HUGE pit, and cooks a bunch of Turkeys on Thanksgiving Eve. I think there were about 140 Turkeys this year. Delish.

We had our Thanksgiving at the Church house. We took the movie 'UP' that we had just purchased, and used the DVD and TV from the Library. Come to find out the DVD player was in Spanish mode, and we couldn't find the right remote to change it. So, the first time we watched up, it was in Spanish. Which worked for Daniel (Arie's bDad) cause he is bilingual.

Friday we had a ham that Robert & Shelley had put in the pit, and some other yummy dishes. Luke and Arie had a fun time playing. Arie kept scooching up onto Luke's lap, it was cute & funny.

Saturday Jon's Uncle Tim & aunt Kari and their daughter came to enjoy yet another feast. It was awesome to visit with them. And catch up. I loved Aunt Kari's Cornbread. So moist and tasty.
