Wow! I never took the chance to write about Zaelynn starting preschool. She only has it twice a week, from 8:10 to 9:40. And it is only for about a 6 week period. (I think she only has a couple of weeks left).
Her preschool is through the local highschool. There is a class that is probably similar to what I know as 'Home Ec.' Well, each year this class has an opportunity to have 'hands on' experience with young pre-school aged children. I think it's great! Cause there is one on one interaction with the students and the preschoolers. So, Zaelynn has her own student to help her color, paint, play dress-up, play games, etc.
One thing Zaelynn loves to do as we leave the classroom is to show the School Security Guard the work that she has done for the day. The first day we had school, he was sitting on a bench near the school entrance, and he asked if he could see her work, and now whenever she sees him, she wants to show him what she has done. When he isn't there, she asks me where he is, and says she wants to show him her work.
I think this program is really good for Zaelynn. She gets an opportunity to interact with peers her age, and to learn to get along, etc. The first or second day that she went to preschool, she came home and told me that some girls laughed at her. I asked her why they laughed at her, and she said because she got mad. LOL. I don't think she gets mad at school as much, anymore. ~grins~
