Stephanie the Farting Mom

Ok...I don't know if I can post this, cause it is embarassing...but, I can't leave out the embarassing part...or the story isn't the same.

Earlier I was lying next to Jakob on the floor, talking with him (as he was waking up for the day). We were talking about different things we wanted to do. I asked him if he might want to go yardsaling for a little while (ok, that's a big weakness of mine~those who really know me, already know this.) He said that he and Dad had seen 2 yardsales on their way to school yesterday morning...'right by each other'. So we could 'walk to the other one.'

Then I said that I would like to go to the library. So that we could check out some books. One book we both want to check out is called: Walter the Farting Dog. (I read this book while I was in the waiting room at the G.I. doctor's office waiting for Benjamin to be seen. I have 'ad-libed' the story half a dozen times for Jakob, since. He loves it.)

Here is a synopsis about the book:
When Betty and Billy rescued Walter from the pound, they never imagined that such a cute dog was capable of such unpleasant and frequent smells -- Walter passes gas constantly! But just when the dog seems destined to be returned to the pound, a remarkable event turns him into a hero, and his new family learns to live with his smells.

Ok...here comes the embarassing part. I tooted, loud enough for Jakob to here. I said 'excuse me.', then I asked Jakob 'are you still going to keep me?' He said, 'yes forever as a Mom'. (Aawww). Then he said, 'but what if you and Dad break up?'

Ok, first off where does he get this stuff? Second, what do you say?

I told him that Dad and I love each other SO much, and that we are together forever. I also added that no matter what, we would love our kiddos, and they would always be with us. I also reminded him of when we went to the temple, and that our family has been sealed together. (He remembers going to the temple when we had Benjamin sealed to us. This is one of the neat things about adoption~you get to go to the temple with your children. We can't wait until we can take Zaelynn.)

(Later I read him this blog entry, and more info came out. He said that 'Michael and John's Mom and Dad broke up.' These boys are twins in his kindergarten class)

(Also after reading the blog, he asked me to add a heart after the part where I said that our kiddos would be with us always.)

'laughing' I believe...you must have been cutting up an onion for the 'crying'. Or maybe you have a 'walter', too?

I agree with Ryan, I laughed AND cried. Who would have guessed that you could laugh and cry during a post about a farting mom and dog? I guess maybe I need to take back all those times I have said that Jakob reminds me of Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes. Seriously, he does, it can't be denied. It makes it even funnier that I know Jon loves Calvin and Hobbes. Have either of you mentioned the similarities between Jakob and Calvin? Even Tyler agrees (he's the one that got the comic books at the library).
